Final Week of Internship

How do you see yourself making decisions about your own career path? Do you see yourself following the career of your mentor? Why or why not?
The decisions i have been thinking about for my career was to go into teaching. the experience i had from my internship was good i loved helping the kids with there work and doing some of the lessons but when they all left and we had to go meeting about the budget cut and talk about all the jobs that the teachers will lose cause of he budget cuts thats California and this really made me think that this situations is not getting any better any time soon. if this situation does it get better in the future then there is no point of me being a teacher if no one will be hiring any teachers then they wont want to hire any new teachers right out college. If it wasn't cause of the situation i would like to go into teaching.

How do you feel about returning back to classes next week? Do you anticipate a different experience of school now that you have been immersed in a work place? What are you looking forward to about coming back? What are you going to miss about internship?
I feel weird going back to school being at my internship for so long the thought of going back is just unbelievable, also i would feel sad but happy going back because i gotten along with all the kids and my mentor that i don't want to leave them but also happy because i will see all my friends and be able share my experience with my peers. Coming back to school i am going to have a different view of the teachers work because of the experience at internship showed me that there is more than just teaching the students there is a lot of preping for the lessons. what i am looking for coming back to schol is to share my experience with the rest of my peers. what i am going to miss from internship is the ids and the environment of the class not being there to help or make my mentors life a little less complicated in the class room. also i am going to miss lunch time with the other staff member and listening to there conversation and see how much they talk about there class and other issues they migh going through in there class room or there job in general.

Internship Week 3

Choose your favorite photos from your photo essay—post these highlight photo and a caption explaining what we see and what makes this significant to you.

This picture is a group of students i took on to help them with they're art making sure they get that they have to put the melting snow man in the right order pf how the snow man would like when it is being melted by the sun to and properly cut and paste it in order to hang on the walls. Also i read to them about the snow and when coloring i would ask them question about the story what they thought about it how it was connected to the our winter season.

What are you thankful for in your internship experience?
What i am thankful from my internship experience is that how well i have been treated and how the experience i have i gotten has opened my eyes on how i don't really want to get into teaches for kindergarten. the experience i have gotten at my internship has showed me that there is more to the job of teaching from the planing to the grading papers and all this extra work you have to do out of school i would say that actually teaching is the easiest part of the job. I am also thankful for actually having freedom when it comes to kids when doing activities i appreciate that i have the freedom of interacting with the kids like a teacher would do.

Internship Week 2

4. How has or do you see your internship changing the way you consider that paths your future will take?
The way I see my internship as a path of a career in the future is that it is still an option because i have though about going into teaching but now in this internship showed me that it is a good career but it also depends on what grade you are teaching. My experience i have gotten from this class is that you do need patients to deal with kindergarten but it is fun at time to be teaching them but i don't think i would like to teach this grade. There is another reason why i would like to go into teaching the economy is bad right now so by the time i would finish school i don't think that there will be enough jobs for every one and not a lot of people would be hiring.
2. What is the biggest challenge face at your internship?
Some challenges i have faced during my internship is trying to get the kids to spell the right words with little help from me. Also getting there attention is sometime an issue. Not having there attention for that long does make it difficult to help them with their work.It is difficult trying to help them but not really being there holding their hand that is the biggest i challenge i have with them

First week of internship

1. What are you excited about, nervous about and wondering about?
What i am excited bout is getting to work with the little kids and make a difference in the classroom. I am also excited about being in the classroom and be helping out the kids and make a difference int the classroom by helping and helping the kids learn something or understand the concept. What I am nervous about is not doing as much as i thought i am nervous about disappointing someone also i am nervous about the unexpected. What i am wondering about is how i can be more involve with the class.
7. What are you most surprised by during your first week of internship and why?
What i was surprised about was how the class was really well behaved they understand well. Also what surprised me was that they do not have nap time. Also i am surprised that my mentor is really nice i wasn't expecting her to be mean but she really nice more than i was expecting she was understanding and she is really open with me by treating me more like i am part of the team than treating me like i am just a person who is going to be there for a while.
